about
A demo from the sessions for Go On (2015) recorded at the Old Confidence Lodge studio on the South Shore of Nova Scotia in spring 2014. I guess it's about the recognition of living a comfortable life in amongst so many who are in turmoil. It was one of my favourite demos from the sessions for Go On, but it never seemed to quite fit the vibe and aesthetic of the album, so it's been gathering dust for 6 years. Please welcome my dusty baby...
lyrics
In all it's safe, I'm always late, crawl your way out
When I should stay, when options fade, crawl your way out
It's a little rest stop, lit up
Gotten over, eat a little by your hand
The mould you're sitting on in your white line
Made a part of the whole
Pried apart on your calls
In all it's safe, in all ways late, crawl your way out
Starve over days, in peace it stayed, crawl your way out
But if I was down and my hands the tide
Leave all your wants in my hands you sighed
The moment you know less they fall,
The moment the roads are final
And when you get up you pull lines
And when you crawled outwards
In the morning tied these lines
Eat only knives they lent you
I know my ways when colours fade, crawl your way out
In all it's safe, I'm always late, crawl your way out
Starved over days, in peace it stayed, crawl your way out
When options fade, when I would stay, crawl your way out
