Another insight into the writing process. I just had this chord sequence and format for a line and pressed record. Often the emotion is strongest in the very first iteration of an idea, so I was happy to just add an acoustic to this and show it to you as is. The lyrics in the second half are from an old idea I'm still trying to wrestle into shape, but sometimes these repurposed lyrics find their final forms in different songs. Shapes, for example, originally had a completely different melody and chord sequence around it, but one day I was riffing on a different idea and plugged those lyrics in and it became one of my favourite songs...
