about

A bit of a tough listen, this is the original stream-of-consciousness version of the song. Up until it cacked out on me in 2015 I used to record all of my ideas onto a cassette dictaphone. I loved the quality of the compression and the tape noise seemed to lend a magical quality and leave open all sorts of possibilities for the mind to play with. Definitely to the point of me developing "demoitis" and never being satisfied with any of the "cleaner" versions of tracks I worked up.

I wanted to share this Tendrils demo because, more than any other song I've developed, I kept the form exactly as is when I developed the song, and there's quite a few of the lyrics (and the little guitar lick in the middle) that made it to the final cut. I appreciate it's a bit of a tough listen with all the excess noise, so maybe not one for repeat listens, you can use the "clean demo" for that :)
