When You Wanted To

One of a few sad electro-pop (can I call it that?) pieces I've put together over the years. I had a lot of fun with the nasty bass keyboard samples and building a keyboard out of my voice on this one.

You know when you know better
You thought this was better
Knee deep in it before I knew I was

You thought you knew better
Too anxious to be caught outside in garden season
No end to garden season

Caught like fish before
You're salted, dried and oiled
You know what you're chewing on
You know what you'll spit out

Blind to all the tears
And dressed up like your clone
Tell me all the things
That you won't think about

Shivering and you're out on your own
Getting one over, back before you know
Brash as all, get over-it-or-out
Y avant, pis là, y avant, you don't count

Stuck in the same place, won't move along
Thinking about it more than you should have done
That I know is dark as your soul
Settle for words we'd had long ago

Come and give in to non-sleeping days
Got what you did, your macho release
There's so much more than you're putting out to us
I tell you boy that you're gonna have to cut it out

Some day you'll work it out, when you do
The sun will be out, can you walk?
You know you wanted to

Only your eyes will be coloured out with us
Taking it on the chin more or less like you wanted to
'Cos you wanted to
And you wanted to
When you wanted to

And you wanted to
'Cos you wanted to
And you wanted to
When you wanted to
